A little shout out to our dear friend Gretchen who announced her book deal on Friday! We are soooo happy for her and excited to own her awesome vintage sewing book one day. I hope little Leona will want to learn to sew...but that's okay if not, no pressure. :) If she does she will have loads of inspiration from the very talented miss Gertie. Anthony is always saying how Gretchen and her hubbie Jeff will be famous one day, and since Jeff's book will be out from Scholastic soon too they are well on their way!
I couldn't be happier for you Gretchen, and all five people who read this should click here check out her blog! (Gertie's awesome blog was the inspiration for Leona's blog, btw!)

Little Monkey
Not many people know that I'm obsessed with Paul Frank. (Except for Eliza B who bought Leona some really sweet monkey socks. Those were the only socks that fit her for the first 4 months of her life, thanks Eliza!) So the day I found out we were having a little girl I bought her first onesie and this little t-shirt with matching pants. I just realized last weekend that the t-shirt fits her, and quite snuggly I might add. Hopefully she will be able to wear it more than once, if not at least I took pictures. She's wearing the shirt with a pair of 12-month capris from Auntie Amy. Josie and I couldn't stop giving her kisses, she looked so cute. All of the attention made her sleepy.

Upstate NY
Yesterday we headed upstate to see Angela's baby bump! We can't wait to meet the little one in October and find out if it's a boy or a girl. Anthony and I are voting boy (but we could be wrong!) We had a great time seeing everyone and LB seemed to enjoy checking out other babies. Congratulations Angela!!! So excited for you guys.

First trip to the beach
We woke up yesterday still glowing from the recent milestone and decided to take a family trip to the beach to celebrate. We had lunch under an umbrella, played a little in the water, then watched Anthony run down the beach to catch the umbrella as it flew about a mile away. Leona's mohawk looked so cute blowing in the ocean breeze. We had a great day.
One more thing
Somewhere between Arizona and Nevada Anthony taught Leona to drive. Naturally she mastered it. (Minus steering and reaching the pedals, that is.)
Vegas Baby
Last stop on our vacation was Las Vegas. Leona was not into gambling but she seemed to enjoy the Fremont Street shopping experience and the hotel crib. We were too busy betting it all on black to take many pictures. Then we had to say goodbye to Grandma and Grandpa and head on back to NY. But not before our precious little gem destroyed an airport family restroom with an extreme blow-out! Go Leona! Best vacation ever, thanks to Mom and Dad for driving all the way down and spending the week with us.
More swimming!
After checking out the Grand Canyon little Leona wanted to cool off a bit so we headed back to the hotel for a dip. Clearly she's the boss!
Grand Canyon
After visiting Uncle AJ the five of us headed out to Arizona to see the Grand Canyon Skywalk. The drive out was so beautiful. We did have to sing 400 verses of Wheels on the Bus to keep the little one from getting bored in the car but that was okay. Once we got there Leona decided at the last minute that she didn't want to go on the bridge, she wanted lunch instead. :) We had a great time!
Pasadena!
Next stop on our trip was up to Pasadena to visit Anthony's big brother, Uncle AJ. He cooked us an amazing dinner at his place Sunday night then gave us a tour of Jet Propulsion Lab on Monday morning. It was amazing. Thank you AJ!
Beautiful Bride
A few quick pics from Jen and Terry's lovely wedding. She looked stunning and all of the details were SO Jen. Loved it. (Images by Bobby Earle, he's awesome.)

Milestone!
With a little help from her papa...
Anthony and I were just hanging out on the couch and we had Leona on her stomach, trying to tempt her into crawling. Anthony was asking me which comes first, rolling over or crawling, and I was saying I don't know JUST as she rolled over from her belly to her back! We freaked out and started cheering then put her down on the floor to see if she would do it again. Sure enough, once her arms are in the right position she automatically rolls from her belly. It's pretty hilarious. She has also learned to scoot herself along the floor when she is on her back by pushing herself with her legs. The other night I put her on the activity mat and walked over to make dinner. When I looked back she was half under the couch, just peeking out at me. :)

Vacation! Woo-hoo!
There are so many great pictures from our vacation out west that I'll have to break it up into a few posts (and a few nights as I'm super sleepy!) Here are some images from our first day in San Diego and Leona's first time in a swimming pool! I can't tell who was more excited to take LB swimming, my mom or Anthony. She was a little confused but it seemed like she enjoyed it. You can also see a sneak peak of Grandma's new tattoo...Grandpa got one too but I don't have a good picture of it.
The Future's So Bright....
She had to wear shades! Of course we went on a mission to buy these for the big vacay and promptly forgot to bring them. Leona still looks pretty cool in her sunnies. And here is a yet another topless picture of Anthony. He practices ultimate leisure wear at home.
Free Jumparoo!
Before we took off for vacation I came home to find a free jungle jumparoo flyer in the mail room and I jumped on it! Anthony laughed that I had ripped the flyer down, but if I wasn't getting it for LB I didn't want anyone else to have it either. Ha! I had been wanting to get her a little bouncer and free is a pretty awesome price. So far she isn't into bouncing herself but she does play with the toys. Woo-hoo! It pays to live in a building full of babies.
